IPTH levels were almost unchanged from 96.2 pg/mL preoperatively to 93.3 pg/mL 25 min after its removal. Thereafter, it slowly decreased to a curative level 3 h after removal. The prolonged half-life of C-PTH fragments in this patient likely contributed to the gradual decline in iPTH, as opposed to the more rapid normalization that would have been observed with a 25-min 1–84 PTH measurement.
