Cut surface of formalin-fixed specimens (a, b). The specimens resected by partial hepatectomies of segment 2 (a) and segment 8 (b) were cut into serial slices 5-mm thick. All sections underwent histological examination after staining with hematoxylin and eosin (c, d). No viable or degenerated/necrotic tumor cells were found.
