The tumor was positive for Congo-red staining (a) and green polarized light on polarized light microscopy (b). Immunohistochemically, the amyloid protein was negative for amyloid A (c) and transthyretin (d), but positive for amyloid light-chain protein. In particular, the sites of amyloid deposition were not so much consistent with the κ type (e) as with the λ type (f)
