Histopathological examination of the corpus region showed small and large polyps and one elevated lesion (a). The polyps comprised hyperplastic foveolar epithelium, cystically dilated glands, and edematous stroma accompanied by chronic inflammation, indicating hamartomatous polyps (b). The elevated lesion was diagnosed as a well-differentiated adenocarcinoma restricted to the mucosa, arising in the hamartomatous polyps (c). (a low-power view, b high-power view of square, × 2 objective lens; c high-power view of square, × 10 objective lens)
